The Village in the Mountain

Beloved, Here is an interesting tale that I pass on to you, written around the year 1821, and published by the American Tract Society around 1830.  It is important on several accounts.  For one, it is a picture of the time, in France, of how precious the Word of God was to the people of the mountains.  It also reflects their core beliefs.  Further, the most humble of people were still educated, and gracious in their correspondence.  It is reckoned as a true account, and was published in book form and as tract number 193.  I copied it from the original, and present it to you for your edification.
